Public Works Department under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works has pioneered the construction of Bangladesh. For nearly two hundred years, PWD has been setting the necessary standards for the development of the country's infrastructure. It plays a central role in the implementation of government-building projects. Apart from this, it also plays a role in the implementation of projects of autonomous organizations as additional responsibility. In addition to the government-building organization, it plays the role of controlling the country's manufacturing industry under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. Public Works Division, Gaibandha was established in 1985.
